In brief Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations & Republican Presidential Candidate

Fee Range:

Alan Keyes' powerful conservative message resonates for millions of Americans from all walks of life and every geographic region, who share his vision of a morally based government founded on the principles embodied in our nation's Declaration of Independence. The Republican Presidential candidate received his Ph.D. in Government Affairs in 1979 from Harvard University. He served in the U.S. Foreign Service and on the staff of the National Security Council before being appointed Ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council by President Ronald Reagan in 1983. He was Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs from 1985 to 1987. Following his tenure with the State Department, Ambassador Keyes was president of Citizens Against Government Waste, where he founded CAGW's National Taxpayer Action Day. A two-time Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in Maryland and a 1996 GOP Presidential candidate. His political activism continues to challenge both liberal Democrats and those within his own party who fail to support the essential principles upon which the U.S. was founded. Over the past ten years, Ambassador Keyes has reached a nationwide daily audience each day through The Alan Keyes Show: America's Wake Up Call, his nationally syndicated radio program. A sought after speaker and media personality, Ambassador Keyes has appeared on such shows as ABC's Nightline, CBS Morning News, NBC's Today Show, Fox News Sunday, PBS' MacNeil Lehrer Report, ABC's Politically Incorrect, and CNN's Larry King Live. He is the author of two critically acclaimed books, Masters of the Dream: The Strength and Betrayal of Black America and Our Character, Our Future: Reclaiming America's Moral Destiny. His third book, While 1 Was Waiting at Gate 18: Conversations with Americans on the Pursuit of Life, Liberty, and the American Dream, will be released soon. Ambassador Keyes' greatest exposure, however, has come recently through his dynamic and much extolled performances in the 2000 Republican Presidential debates. Exit polls by CNN, CNBC, USA Today, Fox News, and others consistently showed Keyes as the clear winner in each of the seven televised GOP presidential forums.
