He has worked with over two hundred hospitals, health systems and health plans as a speaker and facilitator. He was recognized as the Tekolste Scholar in Indiana and the Richard Davidson Lecturer in Maryland. He was also asked to deliver the inaugural Jack Hardy Memorial Lecture for the American Hospital Association Society for Health Care Strategy and Market Development.

His first book Managing the Whirlwind: Patterns and Opportunities in a Changing World won the American College of Health Executives James A. Hamilton Award as the book of the year in 1995. His second book, Trust Matters: New Dimensions in Health Care Leadership, was co-authored with Dan Wilford, President of the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System in Houston, Texas. Mr. Annison also contributed a chapter on collaboration for the book Agility in Healthcare that won the book of the year award from the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. He is currently working on his next book, Meaning and Management: Going Beyond Scientific Management, which focuses on what it takes to be effective in a new century.

His previous experience also includes the founding and development of an international shrimp company, as well as work for the Governors of the Rocky Mountain states, the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, The Washington Technical Institute, the Ford Foundation and the Superintendent of the Cleveland Public Schools. Mr. Annison has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Denver, the University of Minnesota Business School and the Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Colorado. His experience in the field of healthcare has included work with the Estes Park Institute, the Governance Institute, the American Hospital Association, national and state healthcare associations and more than two hundred of the nation's leading hospitals and healthcare Systems.

In addition to his work with leading healthcare organizations, Mr. Annison draws on his experience with clients in fields such as banking and financial services, government, real estate, manufacturing, education and telecommunications. The result is stimulating presentations which challenge audiences to think differently about the issues they deal with every day. Throughout his career, Mr. Annison has focused on and written about questions related to organizational change - issues which comprise the basis of his work in speeches and with Westrend Group clients.
